November
New Home, Pregnancy Symptoms & Finding Out Baby's Gender
This month has been amazing! November has always been one of my favorites out of the entire year. The weather is cozy, everything slows down, the leaves become stunning colors, and I get to have some of my favorite foods.
Pregnancy wise I have been feeling okay most days, but I did have one night where I had a migraine, nausea, got sick and then had a nose bleed all at the same time. It was rough. I also have an aversion to coffee currently which is sad for me as a coffee lover. I also am not loving sweet foods, Thousand Island dressing for example, has been disgusting to me lately. It surprised me and completely ruined my favorite cheeseburger. I am craving a lot of citrus, specifically lime popsicles, and spicy foods like hot chips.
We moved into our new apartment, in the same neighborhood but just across the street and I am so excited to settle in and start making it feel like home. I can’t believe we are in our home that we will bring baby home to!!
I finally decided that I want to go the home birth route with midwives. We had our first appointment with our midwives and I feel like we clicked immediately and they were able to answer all of my questions. I don’t get my first ultrasound until next month so I’m feeling very impatient about that to make sure baby is doing okay in there. I also still am waiting to get my NIPT test, but I’m impatient about that as well so I’ve actually done a Sneak Peek test and found out our baby is a BOY!! We are over the moon and so excited for all things boy.
We still hosted Thanksgiving this year because I love to host (even though I’ve been tired and feeling… well, pregnant). It was perfect because my dad was able to be surprised by the gender - we made a cake and had him cut it. He had been saying since I announced my pregnancy that he thought baby was a boy and he was right! He was the only person that didn’t think baby was a girl. One of my favorite parts of hosting Thanksgiving is the week leading up to it, with all of the hustle and bustle in the grocery stores, prepping the turkey in a delicious brine and having the house all warm and cozy and smelling great while we watch the parade, snack, and start cooking in the morning. I think it may just be my favorite holiday of the year because it’s just all about being together, eating good and being cozy.
Over the rest of the long weekend we went to the beach for a walk around the harbor and to grab some of our favorite sandwiches at the little market there. We also spent some time just hanging out on our balcony with snacks and starting to put up some Christmas decor here and there.
