Maternity portraits, afternoon sunlight, and the small rituals of preparing for birth.
My birth tub is set up with affirmations I made, my hair and nails are done, the house is fully stocked with baby supplies and all of our favorite snacks and necessities. I am so nervous for our lives to change and to become a mother. Being a good mama is the most important thing to me. I’m starting to feel swollen and a bit puffy no matter what I do, and my anxiety is really overwhelming me when I think about when I might go into labor. The waiting at the end has become the hardest part because we are planning everything around the possibility of labor, even if it might not happen for a while still. Every day could be the day and I just want to be as prepared as possible.
I’m very thankful that our home feels so cozy and truly feels like a perfect little cove for us to bring baby home to. This is easily the coziest place that we have ever had and I’m so blessed to be here. Our first home as a family.
I pray that God prepares me and carries me through these next few weeks and the transition into parenthood. I pray that I am a gentle and caring mother, and that my babies never have to wonder about how deeply they are loved and cherished.
