Homebodies

Recovering, resting, and celebrating thirty years of Zack in our favorite place.

We started this month with getting covid for the second time. We ended the month with celebrating Zack turning 30 at home (just how he likes, with little fanfare).

I also had the joy of beginning to plan our baby shower, coming up with the theme and ordering invitations. I know that isn’t the traditional way to go about having a baby shower, but without my mother in the picture and not wanting to bother other people in my life, I decided to just go ahead and plan it myself.

I’ve seen a lot of discourse online about how it’s ‘trashy’ to plan your own celebrations, especially when it’s a bridal shower, baby shower, etc. What a blessing it is for those who are able to have that thought process, because they can’t fathom not having someone else throw one of these parties for them. Unfortunately, that is just not in the cards for me and I refuse to miss out on these joys in life just because of that.

My baby shower theme is going to be a spring shower and I literally cannot wait! I’m thinking picnic baskets, bunnies, baby blue gingham and light pastries and treats.
